I love the simple meals, seasonal flavors, and outdoor grilling and eating. Summer is in full swing and I've jumped on the smoothie bowl trend. Yes, a smoothie in a bowl requires a spoon instead of a straw. The most substantial and delicious difference are the toppings. Get creative and use many! I've got THREE ways for you make your own smoothie bowl. Chose from:
Enjoy a CHILL breakfast or snack on the next hot summer day. Each recipe makes 2 smoothie bowls. How to make a smoothie bowl: 1. Toss the 'into the blender' ingredients into your blender + blend until they reach a smooth and flexible texture. 2. Pour the smoothie into a bowl (or two). 3. Top with many toppings. 4. Grab a spoon and enjoy! These recipes are a rough guide, feel free to change up the ingredients and toppings to your liking. Acai and Pitaya Plus/dragon fruit packets are becoming more popular. Find them in the freezer section at Trader Joe's, Target, or at your local grocery store. If there's a Trader Joe's in your area I highly recommend their chocolate covered bananas and/or strawberries for a luxurious topping!
