The Penn State Christmas Tree

12/29/2016

Since my freshman year at Penn State I have been collecting Christmas tree ornaments. My Mom gifts them to me almost every year, and a few friends and family have contributed over the years.

When my parents stepped foot into my house for the very first time two years ago, they dropped a small suitcase off, instructing me to keep the bag and its contents. Clearly they were ready to unload some of the stuff they'd been holding onto for 6 years (and many apartments) of my life. I was excited to find that the bag was full of my PSU ornaments. Last year I snagged a white tree at an after Christmas sale. This year my life goal of having a Penn State Christmas tree came true!

In addition to the proper Penn State ornaments I found blue and white garland and all of the blue ornaments I could find. Large and small, star shaped and sparkly, I gathered them all.

I donned my Penn State Christmas hat and my parents and I got to work!

The tree turned out so beautifully and exceeded my expectations!

My favorites are the little Santas in the ornaments.

If you've never had the pleasure of meeting a Penn Stater, you'll know right away that they went to PSU... because they'll tell you so!

The same night we decorated the tree we had friends over for an ugly sweater party. The PSU tree is in the front window and every single Nittany Lion knew what it was from outside and commented on it as soon as they came in ththe door! The others were slightly confused, ha.

Merry Penn State Christmas and LET'S GO STATE. We play USC in the Rose Bowl on January 2 and I hope we'll be able to celebrate 'round the tree that night.
