The Packed Lunch Project Giveaway

8/8/2018

Packing a lunch is one of the best habits I've learned over the years. It began out of necessity when I worked at a job with zero nearby lunch options and has turned into a rewarding part of my daily life. I love the feeling of knowing that A) I don't need to search for or think about what I'll eat for lunch, B) I can eat whenever hunger strikes, and C) I'm in control of the amount I'm eating and spending on food and those decisions aren't being made when I'm already hangry. Hangry = a combination of hunger and angry, the bad mood that lurks in when you're starving.

I've been documenting my recent packed lunches on both Instagram and Facebook using the #packedlunchproject hashtag.

Step 1: Pack your lunch with me

Can packing a lunch help you take a step toward one of your goals? Perhaps you're wanting to save money, eat more healthfully, and/or ensure that you don't skip lunch or overdose on coffee and junk food. Set a goal to start packing lunch and see how the habit fits into your life. Start with just one or two days a week. Maybe pack two lunches on one day and save them for the craziest days and see how packing a lunch can help make your day a little better.

Step 2: Win prizes

Regardless of the reason that you pack your lunch, I want to see your packed lunch photos and give you some of my favorite goodies. This is the first GIVEAWAY from Figs and Flights and all you've got to do is pack your lunch, then show me the picture! I'm giving away nearly $90 in prizes from some of my favorite brands for your packed lunches of the future.

About the prizes and brands:
  • Noosa Yoghurt is my favorite yogurt. It's made in small batches using farm-fresh whole milk and real fruit and the texture is thick and velvety (I hate a runny yogurt). My favorite flavors are pumpkin, lemon, and vanilla. Noosa can be found in many grocery stores and variety packs are sold at Costco and Sams Club.
  • Banza Pasta is pasta that's made of chickpeas. It is the only plant-based pasta I've found that actually matches wheat-based pasta in both taste and texture. The noodles come in many shapes and are gluten free. I still eat and love "real" pasta, especially if it's homemade, while Banza is what I use in my day-to-day meals.
  • Stasher Bag is the Zip-Lock bag upgrade that you didn't know you need. These bags are reusable, made of silicone, and adorable. They keep food fresh for days, can be washed in the dishwasher, used in the microwave, and help minimize one-use plastic waste. I PROMISE you'll love them.

The Prizes

The GRAND prize (estimated value $39.00) is a Noosa Yoghurt custom cooler, two boxes of Banza Pasta, and an 'clear' snack size Stasher bag.
