While I aspire to travel all around the globe I also LOVE visiting the Disney parks. This year has been an amazing one for me, having visited Disneyland Paris, Disneyland in California, and now Walt Disney World in Florida. There are plenty of Disney posts here at Figs and Flights. Start with the Disney Parks Basics and Decoding Disney {A Guide} if you're new to the MAGIC and keep exploring using the Disney page. Last week I enjoyed a magical vacation to Walt Disney World in Orlando, Florida, with my husband and his family. We spent 6 days in sunny Florida and visited the Disney parks plus Universal Studios. Here's the overview of our visit, before I dive into the details. This will explain the basics of where we stayed, what we did, and the parks we visited. It will be a great start for helping to plan your Walt Disney World (WDW) vacation!

Fav 5 Travel Guides are a short list of the best things I've found to do, see, eat, or drink in a particular location. This guide is for Disneyland and Disney's California Adventure Park, both located in Anaheim, California. For more on these two parks see the Fav 5 Disneyland and Fav 5 Disney's California Adventure. If you just can't get enough we've got a whole Disney section here at Figs and Flights. My husband and I met in Honolulu, Hawaii, where we both used to live. I couldn't have wished for a better hometown for a spouse than one that's within an hour's drive to Disneyland. The first time I traveled home with him he obliged me with a trip to Disneyland.
That was 9 years ago and he and I will both tell you that the addition of my Disney-loving sister-in-law, Renee, to the family has made the Disney situation better for both my husband and I. I visit the parks with Renee at least once, often times twice, every time we come to town while my husband and his brother get quality time with their immediate family and away from the parks. It's a win-win situation for us all. During our Thanksgiving visit this year we managed two trips to the parks: on the Monday before the holiday and on Thanksgiving Day! Most people thought we were crazy for going on Thanksgiving and those doubters even had me worrying that the parks were going to be similar to an overcrowded zoo. Luckily the Thursday crowd was just slightly more noticeable than that Monday. It was actually more fun to be surrounded by other kids-disguised-as-adults who threw tradition to the wind and prioritized MAGIC over turkey and football. Disney decorates for Christmas just after Halloween so the parks were decked out in their holiday best for our November visits. Disneyland Paris met, and exceeded, any expectations I had of it. It was just as magical as the parks in the US, yet still uniquely Parisian. I told you all about my favorite parts of the park in the post Disneyland Paris - Fav 5 {Travel Guide}. Now I want to talk specifically about Disneyland Paris and the similarities and differences between it and our parks at home (meaning Disneyland in California and Walt Disney World in Florida). Put your mouse ears on for another magical stroll though the Parisian park! Jessica, aka the Bucket List Family Mom, said that "Main Street felt like home" while still being very Parisian and I couldn't agree more with her statement. Gee family please adopt me!
Once upon a time, my husband actually agreed to go to Paris with me. Somehow, someway, he also agreed that spending a day at Disney was a great thing to do! All day we compared and contrasted the experience with our previous park trips. Here's the deal... Two things that I LOVE are Disney and traveling. When visiting Disneyland Paris became a real possibility in my life I had to make it happen! Once we booked our trip to France and my husband, Bryce, was convinced (the real magic!) to spend a day at Disney, the very next steps I took were buying park tickets and making our dining reservations. Enjoy my 5 favorite things from the magic of Disneyland Paris, via this 'Fav 5' Travel Guide. If you ever find yourself in Disneyland Paris, I hope you'll enjoy visiting the best parts from my visit. Disneyland Paris is about an hour's train ride outside of Paris proper. The park was originally called Euro Disney and it was the second Disney park to open outside of America, just after Disney Tokyo. Once I saw the Bucket List Family visit Disneyland Paris I knew I had to go! This was my first time visiting a park outside of America, while I've been to both Disneyland, in California, and Walt Disney World, in Florida, several times.
There are two parks making up the Disneyland Paris: Disneyland Park and Walt Disney Studios Park. My husband and I spent one day hopping back and forth between the two parks. Of all 5 Favs, only the Ratatouille ride and restaurant are from Walt Disney Studios Park. The other 4 are from Disneyland. We considered staying at the Disneyland Hotel but the cost was nearly $1,000 per night! Recent posts include Disney Parks basics and a travel guide for Disney's California Adventure Park. Today includes my favorite 5 things from Disneyland! Disneyland. The first Disney park, the OG. Walt Disney even had an apartment in the park, just above the "Fire Department." t's the most classic, charming, and nostalgic of all of the parks, in my opinion. It is nestled in Anaheim, California and just next door to Disney's California Adventure.
