Figs and Flights {videos} launch every Tuesday.
Figs and Flights video #12 is Pittsburgh & the cabin! For the first time since I started making these videos we have actually traveled somewhere. Travel from Seattle, WA to my hometown of Pittsburgh, PA with me. Then collect enough food for FIVE teenagers and venture to the mountains with us for nearly a week at our family cabin. There's rock skipping, game playing, swimming, fishing, kayaking, relaxing, and so much good FOOD. You'll see what airports look like in COVID TIMES with social distancing signs, floor decals, hand sanitizing stations, and more. My husband Bryce and I have just returned from our first trip since the Covid outbreak.
We traveled from Seattle, WA to Pittsburgh, PA to visit with my friends and family there. We spent ten days in my hometown and at our family's cabin in the nearby Laurel Highland mountains. Here we'll tell you what travel was like and the steps we took for extra care and safety while flying. On Tuesday I'll share a video of our travels so you can see even more of what traveling during Covid is like. We chose to travel because we feel it's safer to do so now while everyone is still being careful, rather than in a few months when companies and individuals might be more relaxed. Of course your level of comfortability is up to you! I love theme parks and have been to the Disney and Universal Studios parks in both California and Florida. This post covers {the food} at Universal Studios in Hollywood, California. Here's where to find more about {the rides} at Universal Studios Hollywood. If you're looking for Universal Studios in Orlando I've got you covered. See more California parks here. Welcome to {the food} at Universal Studios Hollywood!
Universal Studios does dining well and quickly. You can't make reservations for meals in advance and the process to order, eat, and clean up is both fast and efficient! Let's get right to it... I've visited California more times than I can count and mastering how to order at In-N-Out Burger has taken me years, especially since I quit eating meat! I'm here to help you prepare for your visit to Cali with this useful post. For more California goodness check out Travel Guides for Long Beach, Palm Springs, Disneyland, and Disney's California Adventure. Last week's post on Long Beach mentions our recent visit to California's prized In-N-Out Burger but let's get a little more specific today, shall we?
In-N-Out has an oddly simplistic menu and learning how to order just right isn't easy! There's a "secret" menu and plenty of tips and tricks that you won't learn in the drive through line so I'm here to help you navigate the West Coast's favorite fast food spot with ease. To make things more complicated during our recent visit our crew was a trio of one meat eater, one vegetarian, and one gluten free eater. We all walked out fat and happy 30 minutes later and that's quite an accomplishment given our self-imposed dietary restrictions. |
