'Fav 5' travel guides include 5 of the best spots I've found to eat, drink, and explore in a city while visiting. This is the first of a two part guide to Nashville, Tennessee, focused specifically on the sights and sounds in downtown Nashville.
Recent Fav 5 travel guide locations include Vancouver, BC in Canada and Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California.
Nashville, Tennessee. What began as a high school band trip for my cousin and her 15 year old daughter turned into a family vacation for 10 people! We took on Music City like it was our job. While a large group with various interests and staggering ages wasn't easy to coordinate, we all carefully selected which activities and tours to go on during our 5 days in Nashville.
Nashville is both the capital of and the most populated city in Tennessee. This guide will cover locations specifically in downtown Nashville including "Lower Broadway." Named for the street running through it, Lower Broadway is the heart of the country music district. It is dotted with stores filled with boots and hats galore and you can't count the number of cycle bar tours and bachelorette parties whizzing by. You'll be delighted to catch colorful murals and live music around every corner.
Travel tip: Checking the Uber website before flying into any city is always a great idea. Many airports have the "ride sharing" pickup in some corner of a back building somewhere, accessible only by hidden elevators or water taxis, and you can waste plenty of time looking for it. Here is your guide on how to catch an Uber in the Nashville airport (BNA).
Recent posts include Disney Parks basics and a travel guide for Disney's California Adventure Park. Today includes my favorite 5 things from Disneyland!
Disneyland. The first Disney park, the OG. Walt Disney even had an apartment in the park, just above the "Fire Department." t's the most classic, charming, and nostalgic of all of the parks, in my opinion. It is nestled in Anaheim, California and just next door to Disney's California Adventure.
Recently I shared the basics of Disney Parks and today I'm giving you my five favorite things, aka Fav 5, from Disney's California Adventure Park (DCA) in Anaheim, California.
Disney's California Adventure is the younger of two Disney parks on the West Coast. The "other" park just next to Disneyland. California Adventure is ode to Cali with varying areas and time frames of the State's history featured throughout the park, plus all of the Disney and Pixar magic you'd expect from Disney.
There are seven "lands" in the park
Ocean City, Maryland is a classic East Coast beach town. It's located in a super flat part of the country and is home to a long stretch of beach and a lively boardwalk. There are tons and tons of hotels and vacation rentals, miniature golf courses on every block, and souvenir stores as far as the eye can see. There's also an Ocean City in New Jersey. This is not the Jersey shore, kids, it's Maryland.
While most of my high school classmates from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania went to Ocean City, Maryland (OCMD) for "senior week" at the end of our high school careers, I didn't. The last time I visited OCMD since I was 12 or 13. I fondly remember playing mini golf with family and spending my hard-earned-babysitting-money on souvenir t-shirts and necklaces! Other than those memories, I have very few so I was excited to visit again.
Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is my hometown and I was lucky to visit "the Burgh" not once, but twice, this summer! During my first trip I visited some of my old favorite spots like PNC Park and Eat 'N Park, saw some new-to-me places like Frank Lloyd Wright's Fallingwater, and ate like a Queen thanks to dippy eggs and pierogies.
