This Christmas we're staying in Seattle. Bryce and I will celebrate with my parents, plus my Uncle, plus a new friend who just moved to Seattle (and also went to Penn State, of course). With the exception of said new friend, everyone else is staying with us! We've got the room and are looking forward to the excitement. Of course, there's plenty of preparation going on for a Christmas dinner for 6, plus meals and snacks in the meantime.
Yesterday was all about making a list for meals and groceries, then stocking the house, pantry, and fridge for our guests. Checking it twice is optional!

Now it's really getting fun! Last night we celebrated with friends.
My friend Sarah has an annual girls night Christmas party. The wine was plentiful, there were Jell-O shots of red and green, Elf played on repeat at least 3 times, and everyone had a great time. There wasn't a cotton headed ninny muggins in sight! "The best way to spread Christmas cheer is singing loud for all to hear!" - Buddy the Elf
Last night was my office holiday party. My colleagues and I celebrated together with loud, enthusiastic karaoke singing! Hilarious headwear, tasty food, and unlimited drinks helped us to be merry, as well. It is always telling to spend time with work buddies outside of the office and singing duets together may be the best way to build that sprit of teamwork! Santa's elves can't be the only ones working in December! Last night we went to a networking event outfitted in ugly Christmas sweaters. Technically Bryce wore a grinch-y tee, still festive!
We we met a few new people, Bryce reconnected with someone he knew briefly in 2004, and I got an honorable mention in the ugly sweater contest. It feels like the Christmas pressure has come upon us, doesn't it? Decorations are everywhere, the merry tunes are non-stop, and I'm seeing photos of kids with Santa on the daily.
Yesterday we got busy stamping, addressing, and mailing our Christmas cards. Armed with glue sticks, return address labels, and a trusty Google document of addresses, we were as busy as Santa's elves. Not pictured are all of the "Please send me your address, thanks!" texts. Keep an eye on your mailbox, the cards are coming! We're inching our way toward Christmas, friends. |
